The entire wk!
Basically for the past one week or so, I'm working at Sunshine Kids Educare from 9-1pm. It is no doubt a good experience and I didn't know that I will be so tired just after half day of work. I realised that even though I love to be with children, they seemed to have the tendency to drain away my energy. For example, for every children's church svc I attended, I will feel so energised during the svc but once everything ended, I feel so drained. The kids always make our day somehow or rather... angry or happy... They always called me 'teacher ling'. ha... But becos they are the nursery, sometimes they just can't comprehend much and it really takes a lot of patience to handle them. Is that how I trained my patience? lolx. I shall thank God for giving me the this fruit of the spirit = Patience.
So for the past wk, I was planning and preparing lessons, newsletters and take-home kits. It's tough to be a teacher especially a early childhood educators! We should have higher paid or equal paid as compared to MOE teachers. But early childhood educators' salary has always been one of the lowest. I wonder why? Diploma trained: $1500-1800? Degree trained: $1800-2000? (This rate only applied to those more branded centres)
On thur, went to RTRC to meet my professor (sounds nicer than calling them lecturers) regarding the Action Research which we're going to carry out during the Oct holidays. Though we were late, thank God that there's a delay(thanks to sl) so we manage to be there on time. After the meeting, we headed down to for lunch at NYDC at Bugis Junction even though at first we wan to go Swensen to eat 1 for 1 ice-cream de. But since it was crowded and we went rushing for time, we ate a express meal at NYDC. Service was good and the food was fast. There's this 1 for 1 lunch set promotion for DBS credit/debit card holder.
-The $10 club K session-
-Complimentary shark fin soup-
Headed down to sing K at smith street the $10 club! It's a nice place for singing and it's not expensive. $10 per person from 2-7pm or 7pm-2am. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Even though at first I dun believe really got so many ppl but it was true cos I saw a group of ppl wanted to sing but the person said full house. Was quite amazed. Guess they can start a chain of the $10 club soon! But there's only a few range 6, 8, 10 per room or something like tt. So need to gather ppl for K session! Complimentary of shark fins soup and free flow of drinks! Enjoyed myself even though I didn't sing a lot but it's the companionship tt I treasure especially when this wk was quite havoc like roller-coaster!

Drowned part 2
In response to the previous posting, someone commented that it's all started becos E and I have different working styles, she is those loud and ka chiong type while I am those slow and steady kind. I kinda of agree to that. Didn't realise that different working styles will lead to such a problem.
Always end up eating the humble pies cos I am not vocal enough. (ha... got pros and cons) Sometimes cos I'm not that vocal enough and tend to take things more easily, big matters can become small matters and eventually things can turn out ok becos I can forgive and accept it. That's why ppl said I am a even-tempered person.
But sometimes cos I'm not vocal enough yet I end up swallowing the humble pie even though I am not willing to (Cos I think I'm not in the wrong when I got scolding). This is when ppl say that I am foolish.
Seemed like there's always two sides to everything! To those who read my blog, please tag on my tagboard to let me know my strengths/talents and weaknesses.
I shall once again forgive and forget. Dun wan to continue to be affected by this incident anymore. Children's Day is on wed and it's the last lap for me to bring in more children for my own area! Block Saturation, Crowds Saturation and more visitation on monday! This children's day doesn't seemed to be ending... it stretch over the wkends and all the way to wed which means I can't have any break until thur but when thur comes, it's another round of visitation and wkend svcs!
God, I need a break... I wan to go cycle, swim, jog, badminton, squash and table-tennis! Anyone care to join mi for any of the activities? Ha...
Looking forward to the Batam Spa trip with the usual ppl on 10th and 11th Oct! (Sl, confirm booking le ma?) Oh... And Amore Women's day out on 12th Oct! =)

Drowning!
I really need to do something I enjoyed to distract myself from drowning in my sorrows!
(First time writing such an entry but I just feel that I need to let out)
Title:
Was thrown into the deepest sea on a rainy day, nearly drown but survived by God's grace!
Speaking in parables! A worse children's day big day I had this wk. Why? Cos through this wk, I was planning to saturate and visit but everytime I planned, something cropped up and I have to forgo my plan to help other area. I really dun mind helping becos afterall we're in the same zone and I believe that I should focus on helping the east groups under our zone since sat children's day is in Expo. I still got time to focus on my own group since coming wed children's day is at Jurong west. (Cos mine is a west group) So even though I got last min calls to do saturation for other groups, fetching their kids for rehearsals from east to west and so on, I still managed to convince myself to just go. (It's good to sow in other groups)
But as the wk went by, things just started to get worse. I shall not comment on everything. But sometimes, basic respect is needed and it doesn't mean that even though I know tt's the way u always speak or treat other ppl, you can just do it to anyone you like. That happened on wed. Fast forward to sat (THE BIG DAY AT EXPO).
On friday night, I receive a call saying that I will be doing tampines bus instead of the usual newton bus on sat (27/09). Was told to tailgate another bus cos tampines got a lot of children coming. So since I'm suppose to tailgate, I wasnt told of the pickup points and the bus route. But on tt faithful day, I went to do the busing and found out tt the other bus is going to tailgate me instead of mine tailgating the other bus! (Kena thrown into the deepest sea on a rainy day = Kena thrown in the big tampines area on a BIG day! Btw, BIG day = Many many children!) So now the problem is, the driver dunno how to go to the pick up points, I have no map and know nothing abt how to get to the various pick up points! Since, E (visitation leader for that area) was on the coming bus, she directed the bus but she never tick on the form which kids board the bus and so on. AND she asked
HJ (another helper) to collect consent forms from all the kids so I know nothing about who gave and who didnt! (What can I say when you call me on sunday and ask mi why I didnt collect all the consent forms?!)
SO... during return trip, she wasn't going back with us. I was totally lost! In the first place, if you wan to direct the bus, pls also tick who are the kids who boarded and not holding onto the transport form all the way until we reach expo and pass me a blank tpt form! (End up calling me on sunday to ask me why I didn't write down the names of the kids who board the bus?!) If you wan to do things, do them fully and not half half and end up letting mi eat the humble pie. So what if I am the transport leader? You give mi no information in the first place and pushing all the blame on me by just saying I'm the transport leader leh!
Really thank God for His protection and grace during the return trip cos all the kids managed to reach home. Thank God for no missing kids cos I have 25kids and 17adults who went to EXPO for the first time and I dunno anyone of them. So if they are missing, I also dunno how to look for them since I cannot recognise them in just one meeting. Thanks God for the driver who even though patient ran out after a while when I told him I dunno the direction but at least he still drive on and look for the places. Thank God for wendy who apologise to me even thought it wasn't her fault for me getting a scolding from Eileen. I can only say that I have done my best with the little information I had and super grateful to God for being with me throughout the whole journey and ensuring tt no kid go missing. (As for the rest of the loops, blame it on the last min thing, poor coordination skills and not detail enough)
I'm just sadden to keep on eating the humble pies through the week. Being scolded for one thing and another without any reasons. I'm fulled! Drank enough of tears and ate humble pies!

Finally it's over!
More random-ness: Presenting the Morning Prayer Meeting completed Card!

Haha... Thanks to Kai Fei (Faith) who somehow managed to help me get the one and only sticker that I didn't manage to get cos they run out of sticker tt one fine day. haha... She said the sticker must be mine! I was thinking why... and she replied cos it's on her table. Made mi more confused. lolx. In the end, she said cos she saw it on her dining table and she ask her bros (who is in church too) and none of them said it's theirs. And so 'coindence' tt it's the one I dun have. God really know my desire. lolx.
Yupz! By the time I wrote this entry, the semester is coming to a close very soon with the last day of school tml. Looking forward to it as finally, we are gonna wrap things up especially our Boston trip with all the video clips and newsletter nicely done! Will be presenting everything tml, will anyone tear tml I wonder. It's been an exciting and stressing semester especially Stats! Even though I enjoy maths a lot and I guess I love stats if I have more time to study for it. Pray hard that Stats module will not pull down my overall GPA. I wish to at least maintain if not improve my GPA.

Hmm... should I do a recap of what had happened the past wk since I didnt manage to continue my posting. Where should I start? Ok... starts from 2 Friday ago: Went to Cheng San community centre @ amk for another round of badminton with the girls. This time Eileen joined us too so we had 5 players just nice to play double and a reefer. Since picture tells a thousand words, I shall just post pictures here.
-The Badminton Team! lolx-
-Wonder what is Eileen laughing about?-

-Jiamin & Me, Where's Jiamin's racket?-
-The 'formal' handshake before the match starts! lolx-
Went for Lunch at this Japaneses restaurant (forgot the name le). Food are not bad at very reasonable price with free flow of green tea and freebies(dunno why also). haha... Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves once again and I shall say tt sports never fail to bring joy! Cos had been jogging these few wks, on and off but always feel great after sweating out.
Talking about tt, Rarrgh!!! I didn't manage to play badminton both on last fri and today! Booked the court at Telok Blagah for Yizhen and her friend to play instead even though I badly wanted to go! Sigh... Cos last friday was rushing Literature Review like mad and by the time I finished, it's already 6pm and I'm suppose to be at Hort Park @ 7pm for Moonlight Serenade - Zone Outing! Hort Park is really a nice place especially the bridge and the ambiance. =)
-Pictures of the Nice Bridge-
Sat Children's church excursion to the Science Centre and I took a lot of photos of the kids while they were engaging in activities. They seemed to be enjoying and have fun but yet they complained that it's not fun. lolx. Contradicting or mayb they expected much more. And one of my kids' mum bought a box of mooncake for me! Gonna really get something nice for the kids' birthday as their mum had been so nice to us and ensuring that we nv starve. lolx. Cos she kept on giving us food and not forgetting the Chipmunk soft toy I got for Teacher's Day this year.

-Having FUN!-

-Kids trying to be news casters-

-The sheet bubble machine!-
(Didn't know we had this in SG. Saw a lot of bubble machine in Boston Children's Museum)

-Magnetic Cars racing-
This wk passed like a flash. Before I knew it, it's thurs tml already. Guessed I've been busy these few days... In the mist of busy-ness, there's fun and joy too! Oh ya... Forgot to mention about my job at Sunshine Kids. Daphne's recommendation. So I've started work on Tue even before my semester ended. I'm sure very looking forward to working there as this is the first centre that I dun feel the strange-ness and stress in performing well. It's a place for me to try out all my ideas before I actually become a full-flatted teacher nx year. Felt so blessed! =)
Anyway, since the holidays are on its way, I gonna start to plan out all that I want to do! A whole long list of things waiting for me to do. Things tt I say 'wait' as I need to prioritized even though I badly wan to get them done. Now it's finally the time! I need to pack my room, repack my wardrobe (which I am suppose to do it once I came back from Boston), do up my Boston photo album, read all my novels, cycle, swim, badminton, jog, play squash and table tennis (never do the last two before, gonna go Jiamin's condo one fine day to play) and many more! Oh ya... and not forgetting our Batam/Bintan trip, Kbox and Asia Conference!
-It's gonna be a fruitful holidays!-

Mixed feelings...
Arghh... (Screaming) ha... I really need some time off to blog. So many things to blog yet I have so many other things to do. So I shall just start with a short entry. A long entry to sum up my days from last Thur to this Thur. (Oh no! A week passed! That's fast!)
Hmm... Just came back from Geraldine's class cum dinner today. It's kinda of marks the end of this semester even though there're still extra classes next wk for Statistics exam. (oh btw, that's the only EXAM we are gonna have in this whole degree program right?) lolx. I'm exciting for the holidays even though there's still Action Research haunting us but yet, I feel quite sad so that goes another semester! Lesson today was quite different as we wrapped up this semester and the whole Boston trip(felt like yesterday when everyone is so excited about the whole Boston trip!), thanking and appreciating one another.
This semester is definitely different from the rest as we started on embarking on a trip to Boston, knowing one another better, making more friends and developing deeper friendships, going through ups and downs, knowing the goods and the bads. 5weeks weren't too short or too long but yet many things happened throughout. It was definitely the best semester I ever had as it was more than academic.
A candle-lit wrapped-up session! I feel like I'm in an advanced-thanksgiving celebration! lolx.
(Special thanks to all the kids from the Cove for all the lovely painted candle-holder!)
Thinking back, 3 semesters had gone passed and we're only left with 1 semester with one another. Times really flies... It just seemed yesterday tt I was still comtemplating to go for NIE, Wheelock or SOT. In the end, I chose this path as God was speaking through Pst about us going to get our degree. And now, I've just received an email from David (Someone who came from Boston and stayed with us ever since this program started, someone who made all these possible) that the first cohort will be graduating on 3rd June 2009, 3pm, wednesday. (so many 3s) As stated in the mail, it's really gonna be a historica moment! I'm making history! Yeah! History-maker! haha... Looking forward for more exciting things to come! I'm missing every single moments of this whole wheelock program already and also those in Boston too!
An advanced-Thanksgiving
God - who's plans and ways for me are always greater than my own!
Joan - who always believing in us and making everything wonderful!
Lauren - who been so accomodating and caring for our needs!
Judy - who made this program possible!
David and Susan - who supported us right from the start!
Rajes - who coordinated and made everything easy for us!
All the professors - who empowered us with knowledge and ur passion!
All the interns - who brought us great joy, fun and laughters!
Jia Hui - who never fails to talk on the phone with me!
Shuling - who never fails to brighten up my days!
Daphne - who never fails to care and share!
Jia Min - who never fails to give encouragement!
Melissa - who never fails to pray for me!
Everyone in cohort one - who never fails to bring out the wheelock spirit in them!
It's certainly more than just an education institution, it's a big Wheelock FAMILY!

A few busy and fun days!
Woah... have been quite busy these past few days... going out and just feeling quite contented. ha.. I shall starts with thur night. Went jogging with my niece @ 10pm and we managed to run for 12rounds which is like about 6 rounds of the field in front of my block. Been a long time since I run/jog. Maybe since poly year 1. Never really like jogging thus I would rather go swimming, cycling or badminton-ing. ha... But I feel so great after all the running! =)
Friday morning once again went to play badminton with Jia Min. lolx. This time only left both of us as others had other things on so we decided to go ahead with it. Reached there at about 9.15am and we decided to just play for fun. But after a while, others joined in becos they got 6-8ppl yet they only booked one court. They really know how to play badminton and started counting scores while Jia Min and I just played along. lolx. But it was quite a cool experiences and I can get to practise my 'low' ball. I preferred and enjoyed playing 'high' ball but I guess 'low' ball is the thing that win in the game. ha... so hopefully this coming friday we will have more ppl joining us and I can continue practising! =)
Saturday morning woke up early and decided to go for the Table-Tennis Team event @ AMK hub since the timing fits just nice for me to go for ministry after that. So my bro and I went and yeah... I got their autographs finally! Was quite surprise to see Fu Nai and Jamie there and of cos Shuling came along since it's so near her house. ha... After which rushed down for ministry and I received two gifts for Teacher's Day. One from my kids and one from ministry. All these came by surprise as I always though that Teacher's Day is monday and since I havent really teach yet so didnt feel much for it. But was really touched by these small gestures. =)

Went to have dinner with the PE zone finally! ha... Been asking me to go dinner with them cos they always have dinner together after their serving @ Expo but since I'm over at JW, I always missed tt. ha... So finally PE zone have some PE spirit and we took photos but need to get from yanglin. There's some changes to the groups so I'll be taking over Tampines PE 203 once Sept is over. I'll definitely miss all my kids at Bukit Timah and Toh Yi! Was very reluctant to do this last year when pst asked if I want to give away my group but this time round, it was quite a swift decision which I was quite surprised by myself. But well, changes are good. =) Oh... almost forgot, after that I went jogging again @ 10.45am with my niece and this time round, we run 13rounds. Yeah!

As for sunday, went for cell in the morning and yes! Need to spend more time with the cg as Cindy has officially announced that cg is going to multiply in a few wks time which I also dunno when but definitely need to treasure the time we have with everyone. I simply love W452! =)
Went for fellowship @ Railway mall and headed down to King Albert Park to study statistics for like maybe 2hours den gonna rushed off for a gathering with some ex-members to celebrate my brother's bday @ Vivio City. It's my first time to Vivio since the day of my saddest incident of the year.

Had a great fellowship @ Mache and we definitely enjoy taking multiple shots with Xia's camera! ha... Since we seldom meet, we decided to go down to Dempsey for more fellowship! It's been a long time since we all last gathered for a outing. ha... maybe got about 2-3 years since we all met up. Time really flies. First time sitting on a lorry to head down for Dempsey. Missed those time when my dad used to drive his lorry to bring us to his workplace when we were little. And when we grow up, my bro and I decided to sit at the open air space and enjoy the breeze during the ride. ha... Been very blessed by having cg members with cars, almost forgot how it feels like riding on a lorry.
Well, the busy days didnt stop there... Went out to celebrate my bro's bday with my niece to Tampines Sushi. Spent some quality time together and finally my bro and I got to buy our contact lens. We wanted to try on contact lens but kept postponing it cos didnt have the time to go get them. Haven't try on it yet... will find a faithful day to do that. ha... After one whole day of eating and shopping, we headed home for more celebration with steamboat dinner @ home. And since we ate quite a lot the whole day, I went jogging with my niece again. This is the third time, and we made it for 15rounds! Cheers! I think shall maintain at this level for a few days den will move on.
Busy doing so many things and assignments are calling me to them AGAIN! I need to finish up my Literature Report, PTC and revised for more Statistics! Statistics Test 3 and Exam coming in one wk time! There's like still half of the syllabus to be covered! A 2 more wks of school to go! =)
